Guidelines when ATOS receive incomplete PIP claim documents from DWP

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
I would like to know whether there is any procedure/protocol/guidance in place that would determine what action needs to be taken when ATOS receive a PIP claim from DWP for assessment and there is clearly a substantial amount of documentation submitted by the claimant missing. I would like sight of any procedure/protocol/guidance that is in place relating to such a situation

Yours faithfully,

Patricia Parkin

This information was especially useful in a PIP appeal when information I had included with my sons claim went 'missing' when the documents were scanned in. Despite me highlighting the importance of this at my sons assessment DWP/ATOS made no attempt to retrieve the information and totally ignored a duplicate copy I sent the day after. Along with a subject access request I managed to show that DWP/ATOS had not followed their own procedures and I believe my persistence in outing this act of maladministration helped enormously in a successful appeal
