How often do Health Profesionals identify claiments as having additional support needs?

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
The Pip guide informs the HP that When considering inconsistencies, HPs should bear in mind that some claimants may have no insight into their condition,
also -
You would expect the HP to identify if a claimant has additional support needs even if the claimant themselves have not identified such a need.

My question is -What percentage of or how often does a HP identify a claimant as having additional support needs that the claimant themselves were unaware of.

Yours faithfully,
Heather Newsome

DWP freedom-of-information-requests, Department for Work and Pensions

Dear Heather Newsome,

The Department is working hard to answer all FOI requests as soon as it is able to.

Although we are aiming to respond as soon as is practically possible, because of the ongoing CV-19 pandemic, we are focusing resources on frontline high-priority areas.

We will respond as soon as we are able to, but we are unable to provide a specific timescale.

We are sure you can understand how we are prioritising the Department's staffing resources to meet the need to support the vulnerable and how prioritising will temporarily impact on other areas of work.

Kind regards
DWP Central FoI Team
