Birmingham City Council illegal secrecy about pretended “improvements” to tower blocks

We're waiting for Mr Clarke to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Birmingham City Council,

Please note that in the following I am not requesting to be just told that some vaguely-documented “~decision~” is made by (for example) a Cabinet meeting approving some grand “Housing Improvement Budget 2017-2020” project with no actual indication of what specific works could be involved in what specific properties. Instead I am requesting the exact information specific to particular works at Salisbury Tower and Canterbury Tower in Ladywood.

I have been asking for most of this information for years now, but encountering negligible effort from BCC to comply with its obligations of informing in accordance with legislation and its assertions of transparency and involvement.

There is no good reason why replies to these questions cannot be supplied within a week - an organisation that is not very well aware of what it has currently decided or is currently deciding is a mere fiction.

In respect of Salisbury Tower and Canterbury Tower Ladywood:

1. In respect of general REPLACEMENT OF WINDOWS and other external elements (such as louvres):

1(a) WHAT decisions have been made in the past year? (This to include actual documents of decision, including statement of the decision and the evidence and reasons for it.)

1(b) WHO (group/persons and roles) made those decisions?

1(c) WHEN were those decisions made?

1(d) WHY were those decisions made (including full evidence and reasons in support).

1(e) WHAT decisions will be made in the year from now?

1(f) WHO (group/persons and office) will make those decisions?

1(g) WHEN will those decisions be made?

1(h) WHAT evidence and reasons in support will be used in those decisions?

1(j) Exactly HOW may a resident of these blocks be effectively, promptly, and fully informed of any such future decisions?

1(k) Exactly HOW may a resident of these blocks be effectively, promptly, and fully informed of what decisions are made or scheduled to be made and when?
--------

2. In respect of general REPLACEMENT OF FRONT DOORS OF FLATS:

2(a) WHAT decisions have been made in the past year? (This to include actual documents of decision, including statement of the decision and the evidence and reasons for it.)

2(b) WHO (group/persons and roles) made those decisions?

2(c) WHEN were those decisions made?

2(d) WHY were those decisions made (including full evidence and reasons in support).

2(e) WHAT decisions will be made in the year from now?

2(f) WHO (group/persons and office) will make those decisions?

2(g) WHEN will those decisions be made?

2(h) WHAT evidence and reasons in support will be used in those decisions?

2(k) Exactly HOW may a resident of these blocks be effectively, promptly, and fully informed of what decisions are made or scheduled to be made and when?

Dear Birmingham City Council,
I note the failure to answer this request even after 30 days.
There is no good reason for this delay considering that BCC are perfectly capable of working out what the correct information is and presenting it here.
An organisation which doesn't know what it is currently deciding, or why, or who is doing that deciding is not an organisation but merely a pack of lies.
Accordingly I am requesting an internal review.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Clarke

Dear Birmingham City Council,

I note that more than a further month has now passed since I referred this for internal review. You should have been able to supply this information within days. If I do not receive a sensible response by Tuesday 12th June I will raise the matter with the Information Commissioner.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Clarke

Birmingham City Council

this immediately and update you when I know more.

Regards
