Agency Spend for Haringey Primary School

We're waiting for Shyamal Mavani to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

I am looking to start working with schools with regards to supply.

Would it be possible to obtain a copy of each schools spend for last academic year?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Shyamal Mavani

Haringey Borough Council

Dear Mr Mavani,

Thank you for your freedom of information request relating to schools in
Haringey.

Unfortunately, you will need to contact the schools directly for this
information as schools are Local Authorities in their own right for the
purposes of the Freedom of Information Act.

This covers the following areas:

School Spending

The amount of spending in schools isn’t recorded by us as each school can
spend its budget how and where it chooses. You would need to contact each
school in the borough to ascertain their spending on matters such as
agency staff.

IT

Schools are responsible for their own IT and hardware/software etc
individually.

Catering

Our Schools Catering Service disbanded at the end of March 2016. We do not
have a central catering service contract.

Fire Safety

Schools are responsible for the maintenance of their fire safe equipment
and mechanisms and responsible to ensure competent fire risk assessments
are carried-out to prioritise their actions and to evidence that their
existing fire safety procedure is suitable.

•             All other schools like church schools and academies the
Local Authority does not hold any employer function when considering
health and safety at work regulations. Therefore, it is their employer’s
responsibility to audit them.

•             We do not keep records of who they use as long as they
comply with fire regulations and the issue related to competencies of the
Fire Risk Assessor.

Schools complaints

From 1 August 2012 complaints about maintained schools not resolved by the
school should be addressed to the Secretary of State for Education. We do
not hold any information on complaints numbers or issues.

Should you need it - you can find list of schools and their contact
details on our website (www.haringey.gov.uk).

Regards,
