Dear Ms Vidler,
I write further to your Freedom of Information request i.d. 2360. Please
find the answers to your question below:
1. How many parking spaces are at Lancaster University? 2805
2. How many of these parking spaces are dedicated Electric Vehicle
charging bays? 15 (as of May 2017)
3. What is your policy with regards to non-electric cars parking/blocking
charging bays? The vehicle would receive a CPN with a fee of £75
4. Who is responsible for enforcing this policy? This is enforced by
Lancaster University Security staff supported by an external facilitator,
First Parking. Photographic evidence is taken and sent directly to First
Parking for processing. University Security staff are not involved in the
administration of taking payment of the CPNs.
5. How many complaints have Lancaster University received with regard to
blocked charging bays? - Aug 16 to Jul 17 – 3 x
complaints
Aug 17 to present - 1 x complaint
6. How many parking notices/fines have been issued to non-electric
vehicles incorrectly parked in charging bays? Information not held. First
Parking do not list non-electric vehicles incorrectly parked in charging
bays as a specific offence. This particular offence may have been recorded
under three different types of parking offences, therefore we are unable
to provide an exact figure.
7. Does Lancaster University currently have a plan in place to ensure
charging bays are available for use by Electric Vehicles? Policies are in
place for the small number of Plug-in EV parking bays and are reviewed
annually as the number of EV bays increases. Please see our [1]Car Parking
Policy for further information.
