Street lighting request Buxton Terrace Hollingworth
Dear Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council,
In February last year I requested that a street lamp is removed from my house and relocated in a recess opposite. Nothing was done until July when the new post was erected followed by the lamp unit being attached in November. Connection 'was due to take 4-6 weeks'. It still has not been powered up and the street lamp is still attached to my home.
When is this request going to be completed and why has it taken so long?
Yours faithfully,
David Rossiter
Dear Mr Rossiter,
Thank you for your communication. In response to your enquiry I have
contacted the street lighting department who advise as follows:
The damaged lantern and bracket were unsafe to work on so a job to remove
this from the building and position a new column was raised . As the road
is unadopted we had to check the ownership and the service drawing for an
acceptable location which didn’t interfere with the residents parking.
A new lighting design was also done and a column and lantern were
installed. This job has been issued to our contractors to complete all
connection.
I hope this resolves your query satisfactorily but should you require
further information please do not hesitate to contact the street lighting
department directly on 0161 342 3901.
Yours sincerely
Joanne
