Dear Conservators of the River Cam,

Could you please let me know the category / tariff class currently applied to the "puntcycle" named "French Hen" and the annual fee for registration with the Cam Conservancy which applies.

I am aware the Cam Conservators are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act, I am hoping this information can be provided regardless.

Regards,

Dear Richard,
If I’m completely frank I’m not entirely sure which category this falls
into!
We do have pedalos listed as part of the commercial punt category - but as
this is a university craft I think the closest category would be 10 -
Punts.
Kind regards
Jed

Dear Jed Ramsay,

Jed,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

Is "French Hen" currently registered with Cam Conservators as a punt?

Am I correct to interpret your response as meaning the Cam Conservators have not yet considered if the addition of a pedal drive to a punt results in that vessel no longer meeting the definition of a punt used for registration purposes?

It’s currently not registered, but I expect it will be shortly one way or
another.  The owners register every year.
The definition of a bicycle powered punt and its particular category has
not been on any of our committee agendas as of yet.  As long as it is
insured and a suitable application for registration made then I expect
that will probably be sufficient.
Kind regards
Jed
