Decision regarding nurse staffing cuts and Whipps Cross Renal Dialysis Unit
Dear Barts and The London NHS Trust,
I would like a copy of the document which records the decision made and the reasons for the decision in respect of the reduction in nursing staff and Whipps Cross Renal Dialysis Unit. If the decision was taken at a meeting, I would like both the paper put to the meeting and the minutes of that meeting. If the decision was not made at a meeting but was made in the couse of correspondence, either internal or external, I would like a copy of that correspondence.
Please also let me know who you consulted with regard to these cuts, if this information is not contained within the documents mentioned above.
If you are unsure as to the scope of my request or the information is contained in documents other than those mentioned above, please let me know and I will clarify what I would like to see.
Yours faithfully,
Lisa Percival

Dear Ms Redfern
You asked whether I am seeking information on a
reduction in nursing staff at Whipps Cross Renal Dialysis Unit specifically? Or whether I am seeking information about nursing levels across the whole
Trust, as well as any reductions at Whipps Cross Renal Dialysis Unit?
I am asking about Whipps Cross Renal Unit in particular but, if the document(s) showing that decision and the reasons for it also include information about other cuts, then I would like to see that information too.
Your sincerely
Lisa Percival

Dear Ms Percival,
Thank you for your request for information under the FOI Act.
I have liaised with the department concerned and can now confirm that
there has been no reduction in nursing staff in this department, so the
information you requested does not exist.
However, there have been some changes to the shift patterns at Whipps
Cross Renal Dialysis Unit. I understand from colleagues that you will
receive a separate letter shortly, which will explain this further and
which will address various other points made in separate correspondence.
Should you wish to request any further information under the FOI Act
after having received this additional letter, please do not hesitate to
write again.

Barts as such won't disclose anything publicly but if you enquire go within the ranks of nurses working and those who left from the department, perhaps there will be some light on to the matter that some matrons who come running from across other trust to save their jobs do some nasty cuts and changes which on the long run affects the department and the moral of the staff. But main decision makers don't go out and work with the front line workers rather listen to these so called managers and matrons and make decisions. I was one staff who was asked indirectly to leave the job if I am not happy working in the department. So I left when I saw things going bad to worse. At that time I didn't know of CQC otherwise I would have directly written to them. Recently it has come to such a state where staff decided to do something about all these issues and tried to get together by signing a letter but it seems that the letter was confiscated by this so called manager or matron and it never saw light again.
