Dear FOIresponse,

In the absence of an available breakdown for Question 8a, could you provide instead just the total value of settlements for personal injury claims across the last two years?

Yours sincerely,

Sudhir Basquiat

Dear FOI officer,

I now understand the confusion. The response to Q8 (not Q8a) should be only about claims raised against the authority during those financial years, not the settlement figures. (Although claims often don't specify an amount, many LAs set up a reserve nonetheless, and whilst I recognise this isn't accurate, it's fine for my interest in the broad scale of the claim.) The figures you've provided to Q8 relate to settlements made in those years, whereas the question is more about what people are asking for. I now, therefore, have the figure I wanted for Q8a, but could you revisit your answer to Q8 accordingly please?

Yours sincerely,

Sudhir Basquiat

FOIresponse, Lancaster City Council

Dear Mr Basquiat

Thank you for the clarification. The initial reserves were estimated at -

2014 - £142,700
2015 - £159,400

I hope this helps.

Yours sincerely
