Dear Mrs Jacobs
I write further to your Freedom of Information request i.d. 1779 and give
below our response:
Please provide a list of the reasons and cost of each fine issued by
Furness College and the central university from 2013 up to the present
day, or any reasonable timeframe.
We are unable to provide the requested information since the record of
fines issued is not held by the central University Deanery and the time
which would be required to extract and collate this information from a
specific college, and the central University would exceed the applicable
cost limit, equivalent to 18 hours of staff time. The request is therefore
exempt under Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act.
We can however, provide the following topline figures, for total fines,
for a period of three years, but please note that this does not reflect
case numbers/type or suspended fines, all of which could not be collated
within the cost limit, as quoted above.
2013-14 = £3,005
2014-15 = £660
2015-16 = figure will not be known until October 2016.
