Cllr Natalie Reeves

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

You have failed to respond to my FOI request dated 22nd August regarding the cost of appealing the Information Commissioners decision to publish ESA deaths.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act this should have been received by now. I'm sure you dont want to waste further taxpayers money incurring further fines for failing to adhere to the law.

I look forward to your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Natalie Reeves

Natalie,
I believe that a significant part of the costs associated with FOI appeals is actually born by the Treasury rather than the DWP as they provide the Solicitors and instruct the Barristers involved in the proceedings. Therefore, if the DWP even has a record of the costs they probably won't include Solicitors and Barristers (i.e. the expensive portion).
