Over 60's getting back into work who are on Job Seekers Allowance in Gravesend, Kent

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request some information. Before I give you the information I am requesting, I would just like to give you a brief background as to why I am requesting this information.

I have been in full time employment virtually since I left College. I had to give up my full time job and salary in December 2013 to become my mother's 24hr Carer as she had Vascular Dementia and she made me promise never to put her into a home. I made sure I upheld her wish. Sadly, mum died in February 2015 and I find myself looking for full time work. I am a first class PA/Secretary, Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. I have had 4 interviews (hopefully a 5th one in the pipeline) in 2 months, all of which I was suitably qualified and had the necessary experience and qualifications which met all the job description criteria. Historically, whenever I have applied for a job, gone to the interview, I was always successful. Because I am 61 (62 in August and only have to work for two and a half years before I can receive my pension) I strongly feel no employer will touch me with a barge pole once they work out, from my education history on the application form, that I will only be with them for two and a half years. Obviously, both sides, at the interview, has never discussed my age. I strongly believe that they were only 'ticking the boxes' by calling me up for interview just in case I complained they were 'age discriminating' me.

So, the information I would like, under the Freedom of Information Act, is:

1. How many over 60's receiving or not receiving JSA, have the JobCenrePlus office in Gravesend, Kent, got on their database?

2. How many of these over 60's, receiving or not receiving JSA, have the JobCentrePlus office in Gravesend, Kent, managed to get back into full time employment?

Could you please confirm receipt of this e-mail.

Yours faithfully,

PS. I have not corrected this, but when typing a letter you never type a comma after the salutation and never type a comma after 'Yours faithfully' etc! ! ! !
