Legal fees

The request was successful.

Dear Treasury Solicitor’s Department

Thank you very much for your response to my initial FOI request (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/l...)

Further to this, please confirm whether these figures include all funds paid to Counsel which was instructed by T-Sol, where your client is the Home Office. Please also confirm what additional funds were received from the Home Office for payment to any other third party.

If T-Sol received any other funds from the Home Office for payment to a third party, in addition to those mentioned in the earlier FOI request (link above), please provide these figures, once again broken down by year in the same manner as that provided previously.

Kind regards

Dear Paul

Thank you for the clear response, once again.

Dear FOI/Paul

Further to the information you have provided me already - on the fees related to immigration and asylum cases received from the Home Office (which I calculate as £57.22m in the years 2011-14, including VAT and Counsel fees), could you please advise as to whether your figures include litigation costs for the entire immigration and asylum group, for example, the costs for commercial disputes and HR cases, as well as other functions.

This is related to the information provided to us by the Home Office here, indicating their litigation expenditure on immigration and asylum is £131.27m (with or without VAT - clarification requested): https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/2...

Home Office also previously advised us that T-Sol is their main litigation service provider, therefore we are bemused that over 60% of HO immigration and asylum litigation expenditure is not apparently being received by T-Sol - if the figures provided by both T-Sol and HO are correct!

Any light you can shed would be much appreciated.

Regards

BritCits
