Zombie Outbreak

The request was successful.

Dear Wolverhampton Homes Limited,

Given the potential of an Outbreak of apocalyptic levels which could result in A Catastrophic Zombie scenario, and that you as a front facing public service would be at risk. I wanted to know if you as an organisation had any Strategy or plan in place to prevent (or if unable to do so) at least contain the situation should it arise.

Yours faithfully,

Michael Hardcastle

Good Morning Mr Hardcastle

Thank you for your request;

I am able to provide the following information in response to the questions you have raised.

Business continuity plans are in place to deal with loss of services from whatever cause to ensure that services are recovered as quickly as possible, we have nothing specifically referring to the scenario you have raised. However aspects of the BCP would be adaptable to the situation you refer to.

Wolverhampton Homes do not have a specific team in place to deal with this scenario. Nor is there a budget set aside for dealing specifically with this kind of scenario.

Additional information that may be of interest to you:

In the previous year Wolverhampton Homes has received 54 FOI requests. We estimate that the average FOI request costs approx £125 to process. It is therefore estimated that FOI requests costed the organisation in the region of £6750 last year.

I trust this answers your queries. Should you require any clarification then please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are dissatisfied with the way your request has been handled overall, please contact the Wolverhampton Homes Compliments and Complaints Procedure Team at:

Dear Wolverhampton Homes Limited,
Cheers for the quick response.

I am glad to know that although you dont have a specific plan you do at least have something you could adapt to meet the challenges this would provide.
You will be pleased to know you are at least ahead of Walsall which has nothing and would quickly be overun.
Yours faithfully,

Michael Hardcastle

It took many years of hard work to persuade the government to introduce the FOI Act.

There is now constant pressure to restrict FOI. A common argument is that FOI is used for frivolous purposes, adding to public authority costs for no real benefit.

The series of requests you've just made are precisely the kind that lead to pressure to introduce charges for making FOI requests and other restrictions.

Please: don't give them more ammunition.

Not sure why you've singled out this particular request for criticism. There are plenty of other trivial requests on this site, including annotations which are nothing to do with locating information but expound various people's conspiracy theories or grudges. There are also plenty of examples of this site publishing personal data, for example see the requests which get made to the Home Office from individuals. This site needs to seriously improve its internal procedures or one day it might find itself being reported to the Charity Commission or the ICO.
