Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please email me a copy of the letters sent to Edinburgh East Labour MP Sheila Gilmore by Esther McVey about Universal Credit and Zero Hour contracts mentioned here: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/... and a copy of current
JSA and Universal Credit guidance issued to Jobcentre Staff with regards Zero Hour contracts, noting:

"The statement from the employment minister, Esther McVey, that jobcentre "coaches" would be able to "mandate to zero-hours contracts""
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree...

Context: 10 April 2014 Esther McVey (The Minister of State, Department for Work and Pensions; Wirral West, Conservative)
"Jobcentre Plus guidance stipulates that claimants should not be mandated to apply for a job offering a zero hours contract. It also states that no sanction action will be taken if claimants refuse or fail to apply."
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa...
and
Zero Hours Contracts Bill (HC Bill 79)
Prohibit the use of zero hours employment contracts.
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa...

Finally under Universal Credit, at present, what is the minimum income someone has to earn not to be subject to in-work conditionality?

Yours faithfully,
Ian Wolf
