Your input to the recent major CQC inspection of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

Healthwatch Wiltshire C.I.C. did not have the information requested.

Dear Healthwatch Wiltshire C.I.C.,
You will be aware the Care Quality Commission have recently carried out a major new style inspection of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, and during the process approached a large number of local bodies requesting information and feedback about AWP.

I know your chair Christine Graves ( now also known as Chris Graves ) spent a large part of her career in a very senior position with Wiltshire Council as mental health lead I believe, and was/is well aware of the standards of care provided by AWP over very many years?

By way of FOIA, I ask you to please let me see here all of the information and feedback you have given to the Care Quality Commission in respect of this recent major inspection, and also to let me see here ALL of the communications and feedback you have submitted to the Care Quality Commission since Healthwatch Wiltshire was initially funded by Wiltshire Council when you commenced your services in April 2013 ?

I understand Christine Graves also is a member of the Board of the Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group also formed in April 2013, and also ask to see all items fed back to the Wiltshire CCG by her or Healthwatch Wiltshire since April 2013 - so I can see the system is working as it should be.

I did read your annual report released recently, which regretably for the people of Wiltshire mentions a great deal about what you intend to do, but NOTHING about what you have actually accomplished or improved ??

I notice your website is still weak compared to most other Healthwatch websites - with little improvement being made since this was discussed at your AGM last October ?

Where the 'performance' of AWP was also discussed at last years AGM - but not reported in your minutes, and the huge demand on SWAN advocacy services where they were not able to meet demand - again not reported in your minutes, I will be interested to also see what progress you have pushed for and achieved in respect of these areas also please ?

Can I SEE where you are the ' Champion ' we were promised
throughout 2011 - 2012 by Wiltshire Council ?

Yours faithfully,

Steven King

Helen West, Healthwatch Wiltshire C.I.C.

Very valid points Mr King. Accountability must be given by any public body where public money is being used!
ANY "CONFLICTS OF INTEREST MUST BE HIGHLIGHTED ALONG WITH CLEAR EVIDENCE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF INTENDED IMPROVEMENTS!
Sadly if all aspirations remain confined to paper.....what we have is a wish list!

D.Speers here,
Glad to see you are still pursuing this Mr King,I wish you well! Thanks you for asking!

Dear Helen West,
Thank you for your response - although it is disappointing to see that following 14 months or so of operating Healthwatch Wiltshire you did not feedback ANY information gained from patients/carers and others who were in contact with your organisation regarding their ' experiences' of AWP MHP NHS T.
I had hoped maybe hundreds of their service users, or at least 10 - 20 would have been in contact with you over the year prior to the inspection and you could have given the Healthwatch data so as to help AWP improve ?
Maybe next time eh ?

Yours sincerely,

Steven King
