York Way - Network Rail Section 106 monies

william perrin made this Freedom of Information request to Camden Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I should be grateful for copies of all internal correspondence, emails, minutes of meetings and conversations and other records concerning money committed by Network Rail under Section 106 for public good works on York Way.

Network Rail entered into a S106 agreement with Camden during the course of the planning/development control process for the refurbishment of Kings Cross station. The agreement had the value of approximately £1milllion in toto.

As i understand it while the initial negotiation was largely governed by devleopment control/planning the transport team now has the initiative. There has been no public news of the fate of this money.

Commercial confidentiality is not a reason to block this request - Network Rail is a public body and the money was committed for public works that, as they are carried out will require public consultation.

Yours faithfully,

william perrin

Dear Kush, Benjahman,

thank you for your clarification letter.

I am seeking information regarging the process undergone since the agreement was entered into and the date at which my FOI request was submitted.

My interest is in the process undergone and judgements taken inside the council and with Network Rail to arrive at a scheme to use the monies for the benefit of the community. Given that this is intended to benefit the community there is a strong public interest in making this information public.

I have had to resort to an FOI request after fruitless phone calls, messages not returned etc by officers.

I was one of the people leading the campaign against Network Rails plans for Kings Cross and it was essentially to me that they made an offer of the £1m S106 scheme at the last minute before the development control committee. you might appreciate that i have been frustrated that I have been unable to find out how the S106 scheme has progressed and concerned at the lack of community consultation.

Yours sincerely,

william perrin
