WW2 Medal Card Request

The request was successful.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

I would like to make an application under the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 for
copies of the relevant World War Two Medal Card entries for –

WALTER FREDERICK RUSSELL P/J108277 (Killed in Action 24th May 1941)
JOHN ISAAC JAMES AXWORTHY 217485 (born- 29th October 1884)
HENRY JOHN FRAMPTON K60710 (born- 14th June 1904)

I am fully aware that a fee for this type of request to the Directorate of Naval Personnel is
£30, however the service records of the have been released to the National Archives and are currently available at the National Archives free of charge, or via the internet ancestry.co.uk. Under these circumstances can a copy of the Medal Cards be made available without the £30 charge?

Service record extracts can be provided to confirm the birth/death information.

Yours faithfully,

A Crotty
