I am fully aware that a fee for requests of this type to the Directorate of Naval Personnel is £30, however the service records of the above personnel have been released to the National Archives and are currently available free of charge, or via internet ancestry.co.uk. Under these circumstances can a copy of these Medal Cards be made available without the £30 charge per request?

I am writing to request an internal review of Ministry of Defence's handling of my FOI request 'WW2 Medal Card Request'.

This request was refused under section 40(2) of the FOIA. I refer you to the following previous applications for the same information - FOI2023/02197, FOI2022/13333 & FOI2023/02603. All the applications were treated under a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) & the information requested supplied. As these requests were the same as request reference FOI2023/04366 could you please reconsider your response or explain why this particular instance the request was refused when the application was identical to those referenced above.
