Wrong Speeding Fines Refund

We're waiting for Colin Smith to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Highways England Company Limited,

https://www.stamfordmercury.co.uk/news/t... carried the article Thousands of speeding fines and penalty points to be cancelled after discrepancy with reduced speed limit on A1 Grantham. As a result, a total of 19,089 offences between February 16 and July 10 this year are in the process of being cancelled.

I think I was among them but no ones contacted me.

Who do I contact to get this sorted, what email address?
The points put my insurance up. Who's going to refund me the extra I had to pay and if you're gonna tell me it's my insurance company, whose gonna write to them and explain and why should it be me or them that's put out cause of your action?
What was the discrepancy and whose to blame?
Can I have a copy of the traffic order?
What's this gonna cost the tax payer?

Yours faithfully,

Colin Smith

Dear Mr Smith

Thank you for your enquiry of 18 September 2021 through
[1]whatdotheyknow.com, concerning the enforcement of the speed limit on
the A1 at Grantham. As you’ve asked us a number of questions rather than
requesting information that we may hold, we’re handling your request under
normal business practices and not in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act. We always aim to reply to general enquiries within 10
working days however, we’re still discussing the matter with Lincolnshire
Police and will provide you with a full reply before Thursday 21 October.
I’m sorry for the delay and for the inconvenience this will cause.

Kind regards

Dear Mr Smith

Thank you for your continued patience whilst we work with Lincolnshire
Police to address this issue. Discussions with the police are still
ongoing, and therefore we’re sorry to say that although we hoped to
provide you with a full reply by today, we’ll now be unable to do so. We
have however attached a copy of the order you asked whether you could see,
and we’re aiming to be in a position to respond to all of the points you
raised no later than Friday 5 November 2021.

We appreciate this further delay will be frustrating, however this is a
complex matter and we need to agree the details with the police before we
can provide you with a comprehensive and accurate response.

Kind regards

Dear Mr Smith

Once again, we’d like to thank you for you continued patience whilst we
progress your enquiry. Although we’d hoped to be in position to reply to
you in full by today, further discussions with Lincolnshire Police are
required before we can address the points you’ve raised.

Due to the complexity of the issue, and the need for collaborative working
across organisations, it’s proving difficult to provide you with an
accurate timescale of when we’ll be able to reply in full. Please be
assured that we are actively working on this, and we’ll provide a further
update by the end of November.

As we’re treating your enquiry in accordance with our standard business
processes and not in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, you
have a right to ask us to raise this as a complaint. If this is something
you’d like us to do, please can you contact our customer contact centre by
email at [1][email address]  or by telephone on 0300 123 5000.

I recognise this further delay will be frustrating, and I apologise once
again for the inconvenience.

Kind regards
