There are a large number of errors in the call charges information and some information that is incomplete and potentially misleading.

For calls to numbers starting 01, 02, 03, 071-075 and 077-079 it must be noted that the stated call charges apply only after the caller's inclusive allowance has been used up or the caller specifically chose a call plan with no inclusive allowance.

Specifically, "Landline and mobile providers offer a range of call packages with inclusive calls to certain number ranges. These usually cover calls to numbers starting 01, 02 and 03. In most cases they may also cover calls to numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079. Check with your phone provider for details."

Numbers starting 03 are more accurately described as "Non-geographic numbers charged at or below geographic rate". Outside of inclusive allowances these cost 2p to 13p per minute from landlines or 3p to 55p per minute from mobiles - the same as for 01 and 02 numbers. The charges cover all 03 numbers but only numbers starting 030, 033, 034 and 037 are currently allocated. 0300 and 0345 are not special cases and there is no need to highlight these prefixes.

Numbers starting 0500 can cost 7p to 55p per minute from mobiles. This number range will cease to exist on 3 June 2017.

UK mobile numbers start 071-075 and 077-079. This clarification is necessary as numbers starting 070 and 076 are not mobile numbers and are charged at premium rates.

Numbers starting 080 are now known as "Non-geographic numbers that are free-to-caller".

Ofcom has dropped the term 'business rate numbers' for 084 and 087 numbers. Numbers starting 084, 087 and 09 are simply "Non-geographic numbers with an Access Charge and a Service Charge".

The charges for 084, 087 and 09 numbers are as follows:

0843, 0844, 0845 numbers
From landlines - Access Charge 2p to 13p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to 7p per call and/or 1p to 7p per minute.
From mobiles - Access Charge 5p to 55p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to 7p per call and/or 1p to 7p per minute.

0870, 0871, 0872, 0873 numbers
From landlines - Access Charge 2p to 13p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to 13p per call and/or 1p to 13p per minute.
From mobiles - Access Charge 5p to 55p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to 13p per call and/or 1p to 13p per minute.

090, 091, 098 numbers
From landlines - Access Charge 2p to 13p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to £6.00 per call and/or 1p to £3.60 per minute.
From mobiles - Access Charge 5p to 55p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to £6.00 per call and/or 1p to £3.60 per minute.

The number 105 is "Power cuts and blackouts emergency helpline (except Northern Ireland)". Calls are free.

The number 111 is "Non-emergency medical advice (except Northern Ireland and Wales)". Calls are free.

Numbers starting 116 are "Helplines of Social Importance". Calls are free.

Numbers starting 118 are "Directory enquiries numbers with an Access Charge and a Service Charge".

The charges for 118 numbers are as follows:
From landlines - Access Charge 2p to 13p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to £15.98 per call and/or 1p to £7.98 per minute.
From mobiles - Access Charge 5p to 55p per minute, plus Service Charge 5p to £15.98 per call and/or 1p to £7.98 per minute.
