Freedom Of Information,, Heriot-Watt University

Dear applicant

Thank you for your information request dated the 23^rd May 2018 regarding
EGIS professional services staff and your follow-up comments.  Your
request has been handled under Scottish legislation.

The format in which you have sought the information coupled with the very
low numbers of staff who’s data is captured means that individuals can be
fully identified.  We would therefore be in breach of the General Data
Protection Regulations 2018 and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

Our response to your first questions is <5, which means that any answers
to your second and third questions will identify the individual/s
concerned.

Regarding Qs 3 to 6, the policies and procedures for the recruitment of
casual, FTA and open-ended staff are already available on our external
website and staff intranet and HWU staff are expected to comply with
these.  Guidance for the recruitment of our international colleagues is
also available on our website and staff intranet.  Should you have any
concerns about compliance, then procedures are in place so that staff can
raise these with either our Director of Human Resources or the HR partners
assigned to Professional Services and Schools.

In response to your question 7 and your subsequent email dated the 24^th
May 2018, we consider these to be vexatious in nature and the University
is not obliged to answer.

Your right to seek review of our decision

If you are not satisfied with our response or our reasoning set-out above,
you have forty working days from today in which to request a review of our
decision.  Any request should be put in writing and should be sent to Ann
Jones, Head of Heritage and Information Governance, at the address
detailed at the bottom of this email. The request should:

(a) detail your request for a review of our decision to be undertaken;

(b) describe the nature of your original request; and

(c) explain the reasons why you are dissatisfied with our response.

If you remain dissatisfied with how your request for information has been
dealt with, you also have the right to apply to the Scottish Information
Commissioner for a decision as to whether we have handled your request
properly.

Information relating to your right to seek review is available from the
Scottish Information Commissioner's web page at:
