Working Hours for City Wardens

We're waiting for Dan to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Aberdeen City Council,

I recently received a parking ticket for parking on a double yellow line in a quiet, dead-end residential street bound by the City Council Administration. This was Summerfield Terrace.

Having noted that many residents use the yellow lines and their cars are gone by 7am to go to work, there never seems to have been an issue around parking tickets.

However, the ticket I received was issued/observed at around 6.13am

On your website FAQ for city wardens.

"What times do Wardens work?
City Wardens patrol from 7am - 10.30pm, 7 days a week. Additionally the Wardens will work outside these hours to deal with any relevant issues."

Based on this, I would like to exercise a Freedom of Information request to detail the working hours, day by day, that are relevant to City Wardens that patrol zone J. The council's own website is highly misleading, as it would suggest the wardens do not carry out routine day to day patrols until 7am.

So, to conclude, I would request the working / operational hours in which you wardens work in Zone J.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Robertson.

REQUEST

I recently receive a parking ticket for parking on a double yellow line in
a quiet, dead-end residential street bound by Aberdeen City
Administration.  This  was Summerfield Terrace.

Having noted that many residents use the yellow lines and their cars are
gone by 7am to go to work, there never seems to have been an issue around
parking tickets.

However, the ticket I received was issued/observed at around 6.13am.

On your website FAO for city wardens.

“What times do Wardens work?”

City Wardens patrols from 7am to 10.30pm, 7 days a week. Additionally the
Wardens will work outside these hours to deal with any relevant issues.”

Based on this, I would like to exercise a Freedom of Information request
to detail the workings hours, day by day, that relevant to City Wardens,
that patrol Zone J.  The council’s own website is highly misleading, as it
would suggest that wardens do not carry out routine day to day patrols
until 7am.

So, to conclude, I would request the working/operational hours in which
your wardens work in Zone J.

We would be extremely grateful if you could clarify what days you are
specifically referring to for Zone J.

Clarifying these points will help us to be sure we are providing, where
possible, the information you are interested in.  Please note we will keep
your request on file for 20 working days whilst we await your
clarification.  It can often be helpful to discuss your request with a
member of our team who may be able to help you frame your request or
explain more about how ACC holds its information; if this is something you
feel may be helpful please do call us, and we will be happy to assist you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Foi Enquiries,

The website states they work 7 days per week, so in this instance I would require each day of the week.

Yours sincerely,

Dan

Dear Mr Robertson,

Thank you for your information request of 1 August 2017.  Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

I would like to exercise a Freedom of information request to detail the
working hours, day by day, that are relevant to City Wardens, that patrol
Zone J. The council’s own website is highly misleading, as it would
suggest the wardens do not carry out routine day to day patrols until 7am.

I would request the working/operational hours in which your wardens work
in Zone J.

City Wardens generally work from 0700 hours until 2230 hours. On occasion,
normally following a complaint / Members MSP or MP Enquiry - they run a
special operation to cover ‘late evening’ or ‘Early Morning’  to resolve
constituent complaints out with normal working hours.

Patrol Beats are allocated on a weekly basis, and can change daily with no
set times/days that zone J is patrolled.

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,

Grant Webster
