Working from home

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Cannock Chase District Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Cannock Chase District Council,

Q1. During the month of April 2022, how many council employees were working from home, and what percentage of the office based workforce does this represent?

Q2. Between 1st and 30th April 2022, how many desk bookings were made across the council's office buildings and, on average, how many desk bookings were there a day during this month?

Q3. How many desks were available for use in the month April 2022 across the council's office buildings?

Q4. What was the maximum number of office staff who could theoretically work in the office on any given day in April 2022?

Q5. What was the total number of office staff who worked in your council's offices each day prior to the pandemic?

Please provide this data in an excel sheet attachment, and not in a PDF attachment.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Janet,

Thank you for your email requesting information.

Please see the response below to your request.

Cannock Chase Council is still operating its' hybrid working model on an
extended temporary basis and is shortly due to begin a trial of a role /
worker type model, trialling arrangements for office attendance, desk
booking etc. to inform a longer term approach.

As an estimate, approximately 75% of the Counicl's employees work
regularly from home under current arrangement, but attend the office as
and when required in order to meet the needs of their respective roles.

As no permanent arrangements have been made regarding the future of hybrid
working, there has been no change as yet to the configuration of the
office space.

Prior to the pandemic, approximately 320 of the Council's 450 employees
worked in the office environment.
