I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(the Act). I can confirm that the department does hold some information
within scope of your request. Some information has been redacted under
section 40 (personal information) of the Act. Section 40 is an absolute
exemption and therefore does not require a public interest test.

The information you have requested on total agency spend, total number of
agency workers and the department's Departmental Expenditure Limit (DEL)
is exempt from disclosure under section 21 (information available by other
means) of the Act. This is because this information has been published in
the department's Annual Report (Pages 130, 115 and 119 respectively) on
the Gov.uk website at the following link:

With regard to the information requested on spend by staffing and agency
categories, I can confirm that the department does not hold this
information.

With regard to the information you have requested on the use of a third
party to manage the supply of temporary/agency staff, we have broken it up
into two parts as we use two separate frameworks which are shown below.
