Work on Facial Recognition / Installations of Facial Recognition on campus
Dear Cardiff University,
I'm writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) to ask that you please disclose details of any research agreements or funding your institution has received to engage in projects related to facial recognition (either LfR, AfR, RfR) software, and details (company /sponsor name, dates, costs) of this work.
I'd also like to know which, if any, facial recognition or smart cameras are installed in your university, which company they've come from, what information is retained and if it's by the uni or a third party server, and how long they've been there.

Thank you for your email of 28th November 2021.
The University’s Crime and Security Research Institute publishes the
results of its research work widely. A listing is maintained here:

In the case of each of the contracts referenced it was the Police and
Crime Commissioner for South Wales which procured the research. This
activity by or on behalf of the Commissioner would have been required to
comply with public sector procurement regulations.
