Work experience scheme

Ruth Gill made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Further to Iain Duncan Smith's 5th of February statement

"More than 50% of those who enter the work experience scheme go into work, many with the employers who took them on for work experience."
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa...

Based on all available statistics I would like to know:

What percentage of those who have entered the work experience scheme with an employer arranged by Jobcentre Plus:

(1) go into paid work with that same employer?
(1.1) are taken on with that same employer as an apprentice?

and what percentage of those who entered the work experience scheme have stopped claiming JSA without the reason being recorded by DWP?

Yours faithfully,

Ruth Gill

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'Work experience scheme'.

You have confirmed you hold the data requested, but have refused to provide it in a way that I narrowed down.

Based on the statistics you have quoted:

Statistics on work experience participant outcomes were published on 9 November 2011
http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd1/ad...

Please provide what was originally requested:

What percentage of those, included in the 9 November 2011 statisticsfor who have entered the work experience scheme with an employer arranged by Jobcentre Plus:

(1) go into paid work with that same employer?

(1.1) are taken on with that same employer as an apprentice?

You may consider this a new request for information after your refusal to provide what was requested on 13 March 2012.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Ruth Gill
