Work done on FOI request 18426-4695466

Ganesh Sittampalam made this Freedom of Information request to UK Border Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Ganesh Sittampalam

Dear UK Border Agency,

Please send me a copy of all records and internal and external correspondence relating to Freedom of Information request 18426-4695466 ("Baroness Scotland investigation"), from 23rd September 2009 to 18th January 2010 (the period of time starting from my request and ending with your substantive response, and thus not covering the internal review of the rejection).

If you choose to withhold information, then please keep the
redactions to an absolute minimum rather than withholding entire documents. For example, as well as knowing the contents of these documents, I am interested in knowing how much work you have done and when you have done it, so even just skeletons with dates would be useful. If you choose to redact names, please replace them with an indication of the role and seniority of the person.

Yours faithfully,

Ganesh Sittampalam

Dear Freedom Of Information Team ( IND ),

Thank you for your email. Your notice specifying the exemptions is inadequate as it does not explain why these sections apply to the information I have requested (see s17(1)). I find it particularly hard to understand how section 30 could be at all relevant, and how it could be that *all* the information I requested is covered by either of these two sections.

Please could you remedy this immediately, including releasing any information that is not covered by these exemptions, or treat this email as a request for internal review.

Yours sincerely,

Ganesh Sittampalam

Dear Freedom Of Information Team ( IND ),

I have already stated what I'm complaining about regarding your handling of this request so far. You are required to release all the information that is not covered by the exemptions you have claimed within 20 working days, and you have not done so. You have also failed to provide any explanation of why the exemptions you are claiming might apply - see
http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/l... for example.

As you have refused to conduct an internal review, I will be complaining directly to the ICO unless you change your stance immediately.

Yours sincerely,

Ganesh Sittampalam

FS50313966: I complained in May about the refusal to carry out an internal review and the ICO finally got back to me a few days ago. Since they've now carried out the review I've withdrawn the complaint.
