Dear Michael John

Freedom of Information Act request response – Ref 1435188.

Cambridgeshire County Council has now considered your request under the
Freedom of Information Act. We can confirm that we do hold the information
requested by you. Please find our response as set out below.

Your request:

Under the freedom of information act i require the information the
Cambridgeshire County Council holds in relation to Management and Staff at
Shire Hall , are the staff required to wear face Masks coverings whilst at
work (Place of Buisness)

Our response:

Please refer to the following staff FAQ re facemasks as issued by
Cambridgeshire County Council’s Joint Management Team (JMT):

Do I need to wear a facemask in the office?

People who are not working alongside colleagues who are providing care do
not need to wear a facemask or face covering in the office, although we
would suggest that you use your face covering when moving around the
buildings and especially when using communal spaces such as kitchens,
toilet facilities, or other areas where it may be harder to maintain a two
metre distance. The Government has issued new guidance on wearing
facemasks in the office where some staff are providing frontline care. We
have adopted the guidance as policy. If you share a workspace/working
environment (e.g. including the office, staff communal areas and dining
rooms) with care workers who care for clients then everyone in that
workspace including yourself should wear a Type I or Type II face mask
with immediate effect. We have identified three different sites where this
applies to our staff because they work alongside staff who carry out
regalement services: CPDC in Cambridge, Sackville House in Cambourne and
Hereward Hall in March. We have now issued facemasks for staff working
alongside the reablement teams in these areas. However, in the longer term
we are looking to relocate staff where possible to separate frontline
staff out and reduce the number of staff having to wear facemasks. More
details on this will be made available as soon as possible.
