Women's Strategy Group

The request was partially successful.

Dear Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust,

There has been a Women's Strategy Group run out of Drayton Park Women's Crisis House for many years. Yet it features nowhere on the Trust website with details of how women become involved and who this group is accountable to.

Please therefore respond to the following questions :

Who selects this group and how are women invited to join.

Who chairs the group.

Given Drayton Park crisis house does not accept most women admitted to the acute sector how does the group ensure representation is equal .

Please provide copies of terms of reference of the group, agendas and minutes for the past 2 yrs ( excluding identifiers)

If membership is dependent on an admission association to the crisis house how are women recruited who have no access to Drayton Park.

Please confirm exactly what role and representation the group - excluding any trust staff employees- has had in the following in the past 3 years:
* Input in to A&E provision for women in crisis including use of security guards in place of nursing staff;
* Lack of provision of inpatient facilities for women with physical or sensory disability;
* Reported increase in sexual violence towards women in inpatient settings
* Use of prone restraint on women admitted to inpt facilities

Yours faithfully,

Alea Iacta Eat ( name changed by deed poll and the Trust has ID relating to SARs )

Dear Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Women's Strategy Group'.

This is because you failed to respond within statutory deadlines despite follow up requests.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/w...

Yours faithfully,

Alea Iacta Est

Dear Information, Freedom,

You have failed to acknowledge the request for an internal review.
Please follow good practice and the guidance of the ICO

Yours sincerely,

Alea Iacta Est

Dear Information, Freedom,

You have failed to both acknowledge and respond to the request for an internal review.

The Trust has failed to meet all statutory deadlines and ignored all ICO Guidance. The request is a simple one.

The internal review request was made on 22nd March. That is 6 weeks ago.

If you do not respond in full within 10 working days yet another referral will be made to the ICO. The Trust has already been served notices for failing to meet DPA regulations.

Please provide the information requested.

Yours sincerely,

Alea

Dear Information, Freedom,

Because you failed to respond within statutory deadlines this case has been referred to the ICO

Yours sincerely,

Alea Iacta Est

Dear Information, Freedom,

As you aware the ICO has written to you giving a 10 day deadline to respond

Yours sincerely,

Alea

Dear Melson, Sylvie,

So, basically this is a closed group whereby members are only ' invited' in by the chair? How does that meet diversity and inclusivity when there is absolutely NO publicly or ward based information about the group and a chance of applying? Makes it a closed shop and unaccountable.

Not a SINGLE action over more than 2 years to address the fact that there are NO female disability accessible beds in the ENTIRE acute sector of the Trust and that disabled women are placed in shared bays outside of the wonens are of wards. Not a SINGLE action regarding the fact that NO A&Es across both Camden and Islington are disability accessible in the MH suite. Is the group aware that disabled women are regularly refused admission by the Trust? Are they aware that Rosewood ward, the ONLY female only ward outside PICU turns away disabled women stating they can't meet their needs? Are the group aware that last year for 8 weeks the Trust could not secure a SINGLE female disabled bed in the entire UK?

It is shameful that a so called womrns strategy group is not active to support the most vulnerable . The closed recruiting is discriminatory. To refer to sexual violence on wards
and have no demonstrated insight that women in mental health with physical and sensory disability are more st risk than others from sexual abuse on wards is woeful.

This group should have a terms of reference. The existence of this group should be advertised on the website and on wards and in outside spaces with a clear open transparent application and recruitment process. Otherwise it is a n unacvountable closed shop and clearly does NOT represent the diversity of service users and patients.

Yours sincerely,

Alea
