Women and crime on trains

The request was successful.

Dear British Transport Police,

I am doing a study on female crime . As a result, I kindly request the following information

-How many women were arrested on Trains, stations and the underground
-% of women who went to prison as a result of this arrest?
-Types of crimes they were arrested for (high level information like "Tresspass" should suffice)

Yours faithfully,

Shloka

Freedom of information, British Transport Police

Dear Shloka,

Freedom of Information request ref 01/FOI/21/582

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the
Act’) for the following information:

“-How many women were arrested on Trains, stations and the underground

-% of women who went to prison as a result of this arrest?

-Types of crimes they were arrested for (high level information like
"Tresspass" should suffice)”

It is not possible to progress your request at this time, as clarification
is needed from you to enable us to locate the information you have asked
for.

 1. Please can you provide a time frame over which you would like the
information requested?

E.g. In the last calendar/financial year or from and to specific dates.

 2. In relation to your request for “% of women who went to prison as a
result of this arrest?” percentage would not be recorded, only numbers
(from which you could then calculate %).

Please let us know if you are happy with this?

In line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 10(6), the 20
working day timescale will be suspended until the required clarification
has been received, restarting on the date when the information is
received.

Yours sincerely,

Katie Hulland
