The whole purpose of this site is to put information into the public domain. Please send again in an accessible form.

Thanks for the above which I consider helpful advice. I will request whatever information it has in a format which is accessible.

Dear InformationRights,

Can you please provide the information in a format with either a file ending with "doc", "pdf" or "xls". I am unable to access whatever has been provided owing to the format being alien to me.

If the format chosen is unusable by me I would think it also likely to be unusable by others who may be interested in the data. I believed the whole purpose of the whatdotheyknow site was to put information into the public domain, however, a barrier has been put in the way of this.

It is evident from a Court of Appeal judgment in a case between Innes v Information Commissioner ([2014] EWCA Civ 1086 (31 July 2014)) that it would be reasonable for an applicant such as myself to elect a preferred format for the information to be provided.

Dear Dr Wortham,

Your information request: FDN-274468

I write in response to your email of 9 March 2017 in which you requested information held by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman in the following terms:

“Please provide all records of financial transactions made by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to Woking High School Academy Trust.”

I have considered your request in accordance with section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and can confirm that PHSO does not hold the information you have requested. The finance team have advised that no financial transactions have been made to Woking High School Academy Trust. They have checked records going back to April 2014.

I am sorry I am unable to assist further but hope that this information is useful. If you believe I have made an error in the way I have processed your information request, it is open to you to request an internal review. You can do this by writing to us by post or by email to [Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman request email]. You will need to specify what the nature of the issue is and we can consider the matter further. Beyond that, it is open to you to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (www.ico.org.uk).

Yours sincerely

Well done for insisting on an open response. What were they trying to hide or maybe still hiding with this 'no evidence' response?
