Withheld names of RHI beneficiaries

The request was refused by Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland).

Dear Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland),

Today you published the list of all beneficiaries of the Renewable Heating Incentive:

https://www.economy-ni.gov.uk/sites/defa...

It is stated on the BBC website that:

"The details of about 40 installations have been withheld from Wednesday's list for data protection reasons. "

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ir...

Please provide information on the nature of the data protection reasons you used to exclude the details of these 40 installations from publication.

Yours faithfully,

J Roberts

The Department had sent a response on 14 June, but mistakenly directed it to a different WhatDoTheyKnow request on a similar subject (and with a similar title), made by a different requestor.

Today, 27 June, they have informed us about the mistake and we have therefore transferred the message meant for this request into this correspondence thread.

Hence, the answer (even though dated 14 June) would have been only brought to the attention of the requestor on 27 June, and also appears out of chronology on the request.
