Winyates Green Project - Costings and Finance of development

We're waiting for Hasan Mulla to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Redditch Borough Council,

I have been made aware of the regeneration project which you are undertaking to redevelop Winyates and Matchborough in Redditch alongside with Houses England. I have been told that houses in these areas will be demolished and rebuilt but as new builds.

Other councils have done things like refurbish ready existing buildings and make them look more presentable and doing works to make the quality of life for the housing better. Many residents in this area have major concerns about their properties, with things like mould, plastering, doors and other things which haven't been sorted by the council.

Would it be possible to have a chart showing the costings of the redevelopment project for Winyates and also possibly have a chart showing the costings of a refurbishment for the average house?

Yours faithfully,

Hasan M

Dear Hasan,

Thank you for your request for information.

I am writing to inform you that the information you requested is not
held.  This is because at the moment feasibility work to understand the
most cost effective approach to regeneration across the two District
Centres has not yet been undertaken.  In terms of the refurbishment of
social housing, each refurb is specific to the particular house, so no
average is recorded.

If you are dissatisfied with the way your request has been handled, you
have the right to request an internal review.

If you are still dissatisfied following a review by the Council, you have
the right to complain to the Information Commissioner. You can contact the
