Thank you for your request for information, received at this office on

Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within
the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject
to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third
party. In some circumstances Powys County Council may be unable to achieve
this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised
time-scale at the earliest opportunity.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you choose not to make a payment then your request will
remain unanswered.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to
another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest
possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
The due date for responding to this request for information is October 12,
2009.

Who is the incumbent supplier of your Wide Area Network Services?
BT is Powys County Council*s main supplier, other links are with
MLL Telecom, PSBA, TFL & Eclipse Broadband.
Logicalis are maintenance provider for network equipment
Do you use a Systems Integrator for your WAN? If so, please specify who.
Powys County Council does not use a Systems Integrator for its WAN.
What is the length of your contract with your WAN supplier?
Powys County Council does not have an overall contract for all links. Main
links are on 5-year contracts. Other links vary from 1-year to 5-years.
Maintenance contract is for 3 years.
When does your current contract expire? (mm/yy)
Powys county Council does not have an overall contract for all WAN links.
Most BT links are out of contract.
Main links with MLL Telecom expire March 2012.
PSBA links expire in 2014.
Maintenance contract will expire May 2012
What is your buying process? (For example you buy through 'Buying
Solutions')
Buying Solutions is the main buying process or use of existing framework
agreements set up by other Local Authorities.
