Why the illegal behaviour of a fifth year medical student at Wythenshawe Hospital was not acted upon?

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, University of Manchester should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear University of Manchester,

I would like to know why, after Manchester Medical School, was informed of the unprofessional behaviour of a fifth year medical student, by a concerned member of the public- this was not acted upon?

The GMC guidance clearly states the required professional standards of a student studying at your institution:

http://www.gmc-uk.org/Achieving_good_med...

According to the guidance by the GMC, students should maintain professional behavior outside the university too.

This incident was reported in the summer of 2016, concerning a medical student, who intimidated a member of public to drive the car they owned. This medical student had no driving license at the time and no insurance. This by UK law is a criminal offence and carries a LC10 code.

The driving behaviour of the individual could be regarded at the time as dangerous driving. The member of the public had CCTV evidence of what had happened, from a petrol pump station.

No action was taken by the medical school, to even clarify, with the student in question, what had happened.

Yours faithfully,

Michelle Nicolette
