Why Manchester College for OLASS?

Andrew Gadd made this Freedom of Information request to Skills Funding Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Skills Funding Agency,

The Manchester College was awarded the contract for Offender Learning for many prison. Their contract started on 1st August 2009.

Why did the SFA (or the LSC as it was in 2009) award the contract to The Manchester College?

I would like a detailed reply and not a simple "we thought they were the best provider".

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Gadd

Dear Green-Webb Amanda (IM Services),

Thanks for your response.

But your answer appears to neatly side step actually giving me answer! I sent you a 10 word request and you send me a 30,000 word reply.

Your answer (I think) said the ITT had various criteria that were marked. And "the contracts were awarded to the bids with the highest scores."

So - what were the scores?
Can you give me a (simple!) list of the criteria and which bidders received what scores?

Look forwards to your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Gadd

Dear Bailey Russel (IM Services),

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the time it has taken to compile the information for me.

You are correct in assuming I placed the original request with the LSC - and after months of trying, never received a reply.

Earlier this year I also asked my MP to chase the SFA!

It has been a long journey - but (at last) we arrived.

Thank you

Andrew Gadd
