Why is the Duchy of Cornwall not mentioned in your presentation on 'Cornish Independence'?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am contacting you in relation to your interactive website called
'Taking Liberties' and its section on the Cornish home-rule
movement.

I wrote to you about this subject a few weeks ago but as yet I have
received no response.

First can I say that it was encouraging to see the subject of the
Cornish home-rule movement being treated by the British Museum.
Well done and many thanks.

I note that in the spoken presentation the Stannary Parliaments are
mentioned.

However I was surprised by the fact that the Duchy of Cornwall and
its historic and contemporary constitutional relationship to the
territory of Cornwall is not mentioned once.

This website www.duchyofcornwall.eu is a fully referenced
exploration of this subject. One would hope that an academic
institution such as the British Museum could treat this subject in
an open and accurate way.

This leads me to my questions. Why was the Duchy and its
relationship to Cornwall not mentioned? Who was consulted on the
creation of this 'Cornish Independence' section? What information
and guidance did they provide?

Yours faithfully,

Philip Hosking

Dear Jennifer Perkins,

Many thanks for your response.

It strikes me as very odd that the Duchy of Cornwall is not
mentioned once in "Taking Liberties Cornish Independence" as it is
the cornerstone of the particular constitutional status of Cornwall
that is mentioned.

I suppose we'll just have to write off as yet another one of those
occasions where the DoC and its legal constitutional relationship
to the territory and people of Cornwall is deemed to close to the
bone and swept under the carpet.

If the British Library should ever change its policy of turning a
blind eye to this subject then a good starting point would be the
www.duchyofcornwall.eu website.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Hosking
