Why has Bryan Magee's "The Great Philosophers" not been released on DVD (or otherwise made available to the public)?

British Broadcasting Corporation did not have the information requested.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Bryan Magee made a fifteen part television programme of interviews with notable historians and modern day philosophers for the BBC in 1987. This programme is unique and important.

The programme has not been broadcast recently, and it is not currently sold to the public.

Why has this programme not been released to the public?

Yours faithfully,
Cal Paterson

So BBC Worldwide Limited is a private company?

This means I can also use the BBC brand in anything I do also.

So do they receive funding from our pockets and hold no responsibility to us?

thanks interesting, time to stop paying my licence fee I think, there is no LAW says I have to pay it anyway, just an ACT so I am going to refuse my consent to be bound by this act.

BBC Worldwide does not receive funding from the taxpayer. It provides funding _to_ the taxpayer.

who said they did receive funding from the tax payer?

so how do they obtain their income?

I have not received any funds to date and I pay TAX, so how do I go about receiving a share of this funding and who will be funding that?

Is this another commercial arm to the BBC the licence payer is funding, similar to the very lucrative sales of TV programs/series available at HMV with a 900% profit margin?

You said:

"So do they receive funding from our pockets and hold no responsibility to us? "

BBC Worldwide do not receive funding from the government. They are a private company and all dividends are paid to the government.
