Why doesn't the government pay dentists enough to make it worth their while to do NHS work?
Dear Review Body on Doctors and Dentists Remuneration,
Why doesn't the government pay dentists enough to make it worth their while to do NHS work?
My dentist has recently given up NHS work and has gone private.
I have paid into the NHS all my life on the understanding that I would be given 'free' NHS treatment when needed.
Now I have to pay for dental treatment.
Please supply copies of policy documents as regards the remuneration of dentists and the reasons for not paying them enough.
Yours faithfully,
John Walker

Dear Panigrahi, Rashmi (OME),
"The Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration does not formulate policy
documents as regards the remuneration of dentists, so we are unable to provide this
information. "
Perhaps you could tell me who does.
Yours sincerely,
John Walker
Thank you for your email.
Please note that the policy on remuneration for dentists is developed by the relevant government across the UK.
Regards,
Rashmi
