Why are water costs pa paid to the Council nearly double those that will be paid to Thames Water from 1st April
Dear Haringey Borough Council,
I have learnt today from a Haringey tenant claiming housing benefit that he will have to make payments for water direct to Thames Water from 1st April whereas up to that date he has been paying for water though Haringey Council. He tells me that his current charge through the Council is £7.62 a week or £396 a year. Thames Water tell him they will charge £214 for the year.
Can you explain the difference of £182?
