Whole BODY Vibration (W.B.V.)
Dear Health and Safety Executive,
Please answer the following questions related to Whole Body Vibration (W.B.V.) under the Freedom Of Information Act. Whole Body Vibration (W.B.V.) is recognised as a health and safety problem because it can cause a number of different medical problems. When a person has an existing health condition or injury, this can be even more serious. W.B.V. from machinery is recognised as a problem in the workplace because it can cause "cumulative disability" over a period of time.
1. How many cases of W.B.V. in the workplace were taken to an Industrial Tribunal/Court in the following years:-
2018/19
2019/20
2020/21
2. Many people are now working from home under similar circumstances, especially in flats, where machinery might be operating, including extractor fans from neighbouring flats and in multi-occupied houses/residential homes. Are there circumstances in which similar rules/regulations apply as in the workplace?
3. Are there any plans to introduce regulations to prevent Whole Body Vibration in the home?
4. If not, then why not?
Yours faithfully,
Rob Heale
