Who Sends The Summons for Non-Payment of Council Tax

The request was refused by Milton Keynes Council.

Dear Milton Keynes Council,

Do you produce and send a summons for Non-Payment of Council Tax to a person liable? Or, does Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court send out the summons?

Thank you for your prompt and courteous response. I appreciate it.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

S. Rapuano

Freedom of Information Act, Milton Keynes Council

Dear Mr Rapuano,

Further to your recent requests for information it appears that there are a number of questions being asked via the Freedom of Information (FOI) process, I would like to advise you that there are more suitable channels through which you can ask questions or address your concerns with the Council, potentially avoiding the response ‘the information is not held by the Council'.

The right to request information under the freedom of information act only covers ‘recorded’ information. For example, information held on computers, in emails and printed or handwritten documents as well as images etc. If your requests are not for recorded information then we would advise you approach the appropriate department direct who will consider your request from a business as usual perspective and not FOI.

Please see this link for information and guidance regarding what can be requested under the act https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/offici...

Taking the above into consideration any further requests received under the FOI Act that do not constitute recorded information as defined by the act we will not be able to process.

If you have a complaint about the handling of your request then please contact me and I will arrange for it to be considered as part of Stage 2 of the Council’s complaints/review procedure.

Kind Regards
