Who investigated complaints against nipso
Dear Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman,
I intend to make a series of complaints about Nipso.
I would hope that an independent body/ group of people would conduct the research needed to respond to me , as opposed to Nipso staff investigating themselves as happens with Health trusts / Hscb etc.
Please outline the complaints process for those complaints about Nipso, but *specifically*, do Nipso staff investigate complaints against Nipso. If yes, when complaints involve Nipso's procedures & senior Nipso staff, eg,
Acting Deputy Ombudsman/
Acting Ombudsman/
or *the ombudsman*, who then investigates?.
If individuals from a neutral organization investigate complaints against Nipso, which organization?
Is there an appeal process?
Yours faithfully,
Joan Corrigan

Dear Mr Mc Ginnity
Can you clarify what you are saying in your recent letter please
Are you saying that the information I requested is in the documents that she referred me to, which she would not take excerpts from as I had asked, or,
are you saying that NIPSO does not know/ does not hold information pertaining to my original FOI?
Please provide this before I contact ICO
Yours sincerely,
Joan Corrigan
Dear Ms Corrigan.
I have been on leave since you sent this request and have just returned.
I relation to your below request for clarification I would reiterate that
my review found that the three documents that Ms Agnew provided to you,
namely:
1. NIPSO Service standard complaints leaflet;
2. NIPSO Service standard complaints form;
3. Ombudsman Association Service Standard Framework.
... is all of the information that NIPSO holds that is pertinent to your
request.
As my letter to you also stated, "the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(‘the Act) only applies to information that is held by the relevant
authority. The Act does not require, nor is NIPSO resourced, to create
new information or to record information that is not required for our own
business purposes"
I trust that this clarifies your query.
Yours sincerely,
John McGinnity
Director of Corporate Services
