Who holds records of Inspection reports from suppliers of primates to the UK for use in scientific and academic research

Home Office Science Advisory Committee did not have the information requested.

Dear Home Office Science Advisory Committee,

Please could you advise who holds this information, as The Animals in Science Committee does not hold the information requested.

1. Could you please confirm that these 'suppliers' of primates are
regularly inspected and findings documented, and where this information
can be found.

2. When the primates have been imported into the UK, there also seems
little or no information on Inspections carried out, although I am sure
this must be happening ?? Again please could you confirm where this
information can be found.

3. Please can you confirm that all of the primates imported into UK are
for scientific and academic research or are any of them used to create our
own breeding colonies ?

Dear Animals in Science Policy,
The latest inspection report that I am able to find by a UK inspector of overseas suppliers of non-human primates is back in 2008

So my question is where can I find subsequent inspection reports by UK inspectors of overseas suppliers of non-human primates to UK Laboratories and breeding establishments. I would expect this information to include who the suppliers were.

If not please can you tell me who the suppliers are who have supplied non-human primates to UK Laboratories and Breeding establishments from 2008 until (current day) 2023

Also please can you tell me where I can find inspection reports by UK inspectors of overseas suppliers of non-human primates to UK Laboratories and breeding establishments from 2008 until (current day) 2023

Thank you for your time

Yours sincerely,

sharon stratford

Dear Animals in Science Policy,

Thank you for your reply

All that I am asking is where can I find inspection reports for animals namely non-human primates that are imported into the UK, from the establishments where they are kept/held prior to being brought into the UK

So asking where the inspection reports may be requested from. My question was a general question, but the last 3 years inspection results will be most relevant, so from 2019 to 2022 please
The names of establishments that hold non-human primates outside the UK would be helpful, then I could search for the answers myself too.

Yours sincerely,

sharon stratford
