Who features on bank notes?

The request was successful.

Annabel Coleman

Dear Bank of England,

With regard to the making of bank notes.

How is the decision made of which well-known person is featured on each bank note?

How many people are considered for each bank note?

How often are these people changed on each note? Is there a set amount of time someone features on a bank note and then they are changed?

Is it a bigger achievement to feature on a bank note of higher value? For example, do you make more influential people feature on a £50 note rather than a £5 note?
When is the next bank note being released? Do you know who is being featured on it yet? If not, who is being considered to be featured on the next bank note?

Kind regards,

Annabel Coleman
