Where is the John Wedger File?

George Robinson made this Freedom of Information request to Home Office This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

George Robinson

Dear Home Office,

I hope you are well.

Mike Penning MP, the former minister for policing seems to have been quoted saying that he handed the file containing former Police Detective John Wedger's evidence of institutional child abuse in London to the Home Office.

It is further reported that the Home Office have lost this file.

May I ask firstly, is the above true?

If not please can you amend the above to make it accurate?

Please also release any and all information you have on this file including when and how it arrived at your office, when it went missing, please confirm if any of it remains and if so please release it.

My final request is that you release all information regarding what you have done as a result of the loss of this file, including, but not limited to attempts to find this, investigations undertaken and any disciplinary action taken.

I realise this is a somewhat awkward request, but I would call upon your conscience to not hesitate in answering the above fully and frankly.

Yours faithfully,

George Robinson
