Dear Department for International Development,

I would like to enquire into the level of assistance provided by the UK in alleviating the suffering of the millions of people worldwide.

For the purposes of this request, please consider the word 'aid' to cover funds for both humanitarian aid and foreign development.

2. Please provide a breakdown by intended recipient (countries), including size of package (£) and percentage of total UK aid.

(please detail the top three major projects for each country) Countries include: Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Zimbabwe.

4. Which were DfID's priorities for 2016?

5. How does DfiD decide where the budget is allocated/ spent? What are the requirements for a successful DFID Tender bid?

6. Has any money from the aid fund been spent on providing police and/ or military equipment for foreign countries - particularly Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Zimbabwe? What percentage of the UK aid (£) country budget was allocated to security and police (£ and percentage of totak country aid)?

7. What safeguards are in place to ensure that aid is spent as intended by those who it was intended for?
