Dear Department of Health and Social Care,

I have been unable to access pethidine 50mg tablets since early 2022. These were given for breakthrough pain for various health conditions. I am currently being prescribed oramorph liquid instead. I have side-effects with the oramorph that I do not have when taking pethidine, nor does it work nearly as well for me.
I keep hearing about expected availability dates which never seem to happen.
Will pethidine ever be available in the UK again?
If so, do you have a likely date when they will be?
