To the Clinical Commissioning Group,

I am emailing to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act:

A) Please list the wheelchair services provided by the CCG, including:
i) The provider
ii) The geographical area covered
iii) Brief description of the provision covered
iv) The need level met (i.e. low, end of life, hospital discharge, etc)

B) For each instance where the answer to 'A i' is anything other than the CCG itself:
i) The date when the related contract began
ii) The annual cost of the contract to the CCG
iii) The annual cost of the service at the last point it was provided directly by the CCG
iv) The date when the current contract will expire

C) For each instance where the answer to 'A i' is the CCG
i) The annual cost to the CCG of the service for each of the following financial years: 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19

D) The following information about wheelchair service use
i) The current total longest open episode of care for (a) adults and (b) children, in weeks
ii) The average waiting time in weeks for the following financial years: 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 (up until the date on which this request is received)
iii) The total annual spend on wheelchair services for the following financial years 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19
iv) The total number of complaints relating to wheelchair services received for the following financial years 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 (and the outcome of complaints if possible)

I would like to receive this information electronically a spreadsheet if possible.

If the decision is made to withhold some of this information using exemptions in the Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions used.

Dear Mr Davies

 

Thank you for your enquiry requesting information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

 

Please find below our response to your request:

 

A) Please list the wheelchair services provided by the CCG, including:

i) The provider

Whittington Health

 

ii) The geographical area covered

London Borough of Haringey

 

iii) Brief description of the provision covered

The Haringey Seating and Mobility Centre provides person-centred care to
residents of Haringey who require mobility equipment for permanent or
long-term disabilities; long-term being defined as lasting six months or
more. The Centre provides equipment which improves the quality of life and
mobility of service users by taking account of the person’s medical and
lifestyle needs, as well as the needs of the carer.

The Centre also runs a Wheelchair Loans Service for those who require the
use of a wheelchair for no more than three months.

 

 

iv) The need level met (i.e. low, end of life, hospital discharge, etc)

 

 

The Centre accepts referral of the following:

·         Haringey residents with an identifiable GP

·         Residents of Islington, Barnet or Camden who have a Haringey GP.

·         There must be a long-term disability that permanently affects
mobility.

·         There is no age minimum age for referral.

·         Service users requiring short term use of a wheelchair are able
to use the loans service.

 

B) For each instance where the answer to 'A i' is anything other than the
CCG itself:

i) The date when the related contract began

1^st April 2017

 

ii) The annual cost of the contract to the CCG

This service is provided as part of an overall Community block contract
and it is not possible to directly apportion part of this block contract
to this service.

 

iii) The annual cost of the service at the last point it was provided
directly by the CCG

iv) The date when the current contract will expire

31^st March 2019

 

C) For each instance where the answer to 'A i' is the CCG

i) The annual cost to the CCG of the service for each of the following 
financial years: 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19

2015/16 – not reported

2016/17 – 2.3 weeks

2017/18 – 3.6 weeks

2018/19 – 3.8 weeks

This service is provided as part of an overall Community block contract
and it is not possible to directly apportion part of this block contract
to this service.
